40 percent of small businesses still rely on fax as market sees ‘renaisassance’

Brother has released two new laser fax machines it believes will help resellers capitalise on growth in the market.

The FAX-2840 and FAX-2940 are aimed at smaller businesses, with  fast transmission of documents to reduce costs.  The machines have print speeds of 20 pages per minute, as well as 500 pages of transmission and reception.

Apparently the market for fax machines is undergoing a ‘renaissance’ Brother says, with businesses continuing to rely on fax machines despite the advent of newer communication technologies.

Around 40 percent of small businesses still rely on sending faxes as a vital communications channel, as well as large government departments.  Brother claims that the market is worth £6.5 million, and offers plenty of opportunity to resellers.

“The value of the laser fax market presents a great revenue and margin opportunity for resellers,” said Andy Forsyth, senior general manager for UK sales and marketing at Brother.

“The performance of our fax machines across the channel places Brother as the number one laser fax vendor and the most demanded brand, combined with our market intelligence, enables resellers to capitalise on this and enhance their offering for small businesses.”
