Partner programme for cloud resellers can be just plain rubbish.
Netplan’s new Internet Solutions’ partner programme for IT value added resellers (VARs) is proving an antidote for bad cloud experiences.
James Hankins, Business Development Manager at Carat, said the company joined the partner programme after bad experiences with other cloud service providers.
Hankins claims the system gave them all the resources and features they needed to improve and expand their business.
He said that they initially used a rented cloud based IT environment but found the operation was blighted by numerous outages and limited visibility.
Things were so bad that Carat could not provide its services to its customers.
Hankins said that the search for a better solution led them to Netplan Internet Solution’s partner program.
Using VMware vCloud based infrastructure with a web based management console called vCloud Director meant that Netplan’s partners had full control over the cloud services they provide to their customers.
Hankins said that the Netplan partnership gave the company full control flexibility over our cloud infrastructure allowing us to build, test and deploy on demand.
Resellers have been clamouring to offer cloud based services as part of their business packages. This is mostly carried out by teaming up with a trusted cloud hosting provider, resellers capture part of that ever growing market.
As Carat found out, some of the cloud packages out there are rubbish. The company was just one of the many small to medium IT VARs that offer strong customer relations and product knowledge, but do not have the capability to deliver data centre services.
But by teaming up with Netplan partner, VARs could offer these benefits for the the first time.
This included the provision virtual infrastructure instantly, instant software installation and management and support.
