SUSE unveils new open source partner programme

Enterprise Linux, software-defined storage, OpenStack cloud and systems management covered

SUSE says it is making it easier for channel partners to “address the key needs of their customers” with the introduction of a new channel partner programme.

Partners that resell open source enterprise technology from SUSE will benefit from “new, improved” training and certification pathways, along with “enhanced” profitability structures that recognise and reward partners’ engagement with SUSE, said the supplier.

LinuxpicThe programme focuses on four SUSE solution areas for channel partners: enterprise Linux, software-defined storage, OpenStack cloud and systems management.

“Enterprise IT customers need to be able to adapt quickly to changes in their markets, and so do their technology providers,” said Ronald de Jong, president of sales at SUSE. “That’s why we’re making it easier for our reseller partners to find and use the tools that will help them provide the right SUSE solutions to their customers.”

SUSE’s new channel partner programme features a streamlined online portal for partners that provides access to the latest product information and sales tools, as well as training and certification that are available online, in the classroom or via SUSE’s academy system. SUSE is also providing help-desk assistance dedicated to channel partners.

Patrick Fitzgerald, managing director of SUSE solutions partner i-Layer, said: “It’s great to see SUSE supporting us not only with the great technology they have always provided, but now with a dedicated programme that can only strengthen our partnership.

“SUSE has again stepped up its partner game. The new programme is simple, as we are not forced to take SUSE’s entire stack and we can work with them at a level that suits us.”
