Magirus signs up as Dell specialist data centre distributor

European IT solutions provider Magirus said that it will be a specialist distributor of Dell datacentre products in the UK, starting in April.

Magirus will distribute enterprise servers, storage and connectivity products to its business partners here.

The portfolio include PowerEdge servers, and storage, backup and connectivity using the PowerVault, EqualLogic and Compellent rages for both enterprise customers and small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs).

Denise Bryant, UK MD of Magirus, said the move was a key element inits strategy to give a choice data centre partners to its customers.

Magirus has a 6,000 strong reseller base across the UK and Europe, Bryant said. Dell executive director Kathleen Schneider, who runs channel marketing and programmes across Europe, said: “Magirus excels at helping resellers provide extra value with wrap around services and training.”

Both companies will engage in joint marketing to bring business partners on board. Barry Body, head of sales for Magirus’ storage and compute division in the UK, will look after the Dell portfolio.
