Partners to launch Managed Cloud Services, Cloud Sites

Cloud hosting provider ElasticHosts has announced two products it promises will make life easier for businesses.

Cloud Sites, which is in partnership with Hybrid Sites, promises to provide scalable hosting for PHP and MySQL websites without requiring server administration. It will also host customer files, which can deliver cloud scalability without anyone needing to manage the underlying servers.

The other product is Managed Cloud Servers, which ElasticHosts says will nicely complement its flexible pay as you go cloud servers. It has been launched in partnership with Cloudways. With Managed Cloud Services, ElasticHosts says its customers can take advantage of server management, cloud migration assistance, monitoring capabilities and disaster recovery. Businesses will be able to deploy applications such as WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, Magento, and Java Servlets. Cloudways will help manage these on Linux and on Windows.

ElasticHosts CEO Richard Davies acknowledged that some organisations will need full admin access and control, but there are others who want to run web pages in the cloud without having to manage their own cloud servers. “Others need more substantial hosting but don’t have the time or resources to manage their servers,” he said. “We are opening our doors to both sets of customers”.

Companies need flexibility if they are going to sign up to cloud hosting, ElasticHosts said. “The first rule of cloud is that it must be customisable to suit individual companies,” Davies said.
