VMware has announced its enterprise level social network SocialCast will target SMBs looking to boost productivity.
The service will be free of charge for up to 50 users, and will give access to a full range of features, VMware says, such as enterprise grade security, compliance capabilities, mobile access and so forth.
VMware acquired the social networking platform last year and will expand its reach to smaller businesses having been aimed more at enterprise use.
The social network will encourage greater engagement between employees, and will allow integration through CRM systems and other business applications. Access to the SocialCast network will be made available via mobile platforms such as iPads, BBs and Android devices.
According to Tim Young, vice president of Social, VMware, SocialCast will allow SMBs to employ social networks without worrying about security or administrative concerns.
”We don’t want people to have anything but the best experience with their communities,” he said. “Now we’re able to offer companies of all sizes enterprise social networks that employees will love to use, and with the confidence their data is secure.”
