Brother jumps on BYOD bandwagon with channel printer release

Brother has released two new wireless label printers to the channel, piggy backing on BYOD trends with connectivity that will allow printing from a range of devices.

The printer vendor has launched the QL-710W and QL720NW devices which will enable users to print wirelessly from Android and Apple devices with a labelling app, as well as from Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and so forth.

The QL-720NW also offers network connection, and so can be accessed by anyone on the network, and removing the need to install drivers on devices.

Brother says that the PT-Editor Lite LAN software can be installed on a network drive, enabling all users with access to the drive to print without installing software.

According to Brother product manager Stuart Mabe, the BYOD trend offers opportunities for its partners selling labelling products.

“The BYOD trend and the expansion in the labelling market present an exciting opportunity for resellers,” Mabe says.

“Our wireless label printers and labelling app enable resellers to exploit this opportunity and expand their offering to the office market.”
