Fujitsu ups VDI incentives for resellers

Fujitsu is increasing incentives for resellers getting involved in the growing interest for virtual desktops.

The Japanese firm will be upping margins for resellers supply its Futro range of thin clients to end users, and offering 10 percent rebates, as major vendors start to get serious about virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI).

This Fujitsu VDI offering will be available as out-of-the-box services, giving options for either Microsoft’s HyperV software, or VMware View.    These will both run on Fujitsu’s own Primergy servers.

Each VDI system will allow multiple computers to be supported, HyperV up to 42, and VMware systems supporting up to 40 users, with options to expand to up to 250 virtual clients.

Fujitsu says that its reseller partners can also supply eLux software to convert end users existing PCs into thin client devices.

Simon Worsfold, channel and enterprise sales director for Fujitsu UK & Ireland’s Technology Product Group, says that the hype around VDI is beginning to die down and is now a viable proposition for its resellers.

“The VDI hype cycle is well past its peak and we are now at the stage where companies want to look seriously at pilot projects and actual adoption,” Worsfold said in a statement.

“Fujitsu has a great proposition for both the channel and end-users. We have a tried and tested partner programme that’s delivering great results – and resellers can earn significantly higher rebates when they work with us.”
