Escape Studios Spins Out Computer Graphics Reseller Division

The new venture, dubbed Escape Technology, will be headquartered on Wardour Street in London’s West End. The area is renowned for the number of media companies operating in the area.

The new company will provide the media sector with a dedicated reseller with increased focus and expertise within the industry. It will offer consultancy, sales and support of leading IT technologies into Europe’s top studios within the computer graphics (CG) industry, while continuing to support the student and academic markets.

Escape Technology said it has a team of industry veterans with years of experience of CG markets who originally formed the technology team at Escape Studios.

Mark Cass, managing director at Escape Technology, said that operating as a separate company would enable his team to focus on expanding existing relationships while “leveraging our expertise and industry alliances to develop new opportunities”.

“I’m delighted to say all the existing technology staff will be transferring to Escape Technology, joined by some new faces to enhance our capability,” he said.

Richard McGuinness, director of business development at Escape Technology said that being based in the middle of Soho surrounded by media companies would strengthen its reach both to existing and new clients.

“As a company that has a genuine understanding and appreciation of the demands of leading studios and production facilities Escape Technology is able to provide localised consultancy and support,” he said.

With the two companies operating separately, Escape Studios will now concentrate fully on the continued growth of its classroom and online academies and recruitment services.

“I am very proud of Escape Technology’s achievements over the last seven years; they have grown from nothing to become the UK’s leading reseller for media and entertainment in just under seven years. This move will provide the focus and resources to fulfil Escape Technology’s full potential,” said Dom Davenport chief executive and founder of Escape Studios.
