Computer 2000 Gives McAfee Range A Safe Haven

Computer 2000, the UK arm of Tech Data, has added the full range of security solutions from McAfee to its online electronic software distribution (ESD) service TD Activate-here. The addition will allow resellers, e-tailers and retailers to offer a full and up-to-date choice of McAfee products to their customers.

Resellers can use TD Activate-here to order software products for immediate deployment and use. There is no requirement to order product in advance, or to display or stock boxed software. It said that resellers and retailers can offer 100 percent product availability and also benefit from improved cash-flow and reduced cost by using the service.

Active activations

The distributor said that the service has been growing at a good rate since its launch in July 2011, with the number of customers activating products on the service growing every month. At current rates, Tech Data expects more than 10,000 resellers to have used the service by the end of its fiscal year tomorrow.

James Reed, director of software and systems at Computer 2000, said the addition of the McAfee product range brings considerable value to TD Activate-here and will encourage even more resellers to use this valuable service.

“We have been really encouraged to see many customers using TD Activate-here on a frequent basis, buying from us more often or for the first time,” he said.

“By making it much easier for them to offer a wide range of leading products and dramatically reducing their cost of sale, TD Activate-here is encouraging more SMB resellers and retailers to offer and to attach software at the point of sale. It is undoubtedly helping them to increase their software sales and their profitability.”

Reed expects the number of resellers using TD Activate-here to increase this year. “With the entire McAfee range now fully available on TD Activate-here, we expect the number of customers using the system to grow and anticipate usage accelerating over the course of 2013.”
