Ingram Micro Makes Connection With Sangoma For Lync Expertise

Ingram Micro has moved deeper into Microsoft Lync, as demand for the communications software grows, with the signing of Sangoma, a provider of hardware and software components for IP communications systems.

The product lines include gateway appliances and software to expand Ingram’s support for unified communications (UC) installations, which includes its partnerships with ShoreTel, Microsoft Lync, Cisco, Oaisys and Jabra.

Lync to resellers

The partnership will add Sangoma’s NetBorder Lync Express, an all-in-one Lync server appliance with built-in gateway and SIP connectivity, to Ingram’s growing portfolio of products and services that support Microsoft Lync.

Lync Express, which supports up to 500 seats, will be bundled with an on-boarding tool to help new resellers to understand how Lync should be deployed. The package has further options for more in-depth training and professional services.

Through Ingram, Sangoma will also supply its NetBorder Express TDM to SIP VoIP Media Gateway and SIP-based Session Border Controllers, for which licensing is based only on the number of sessions.

Bill Wignall, CEO and president of Sangoma, said, “Over the past year, we have continued to grow our worldwide footprint, with a variety of highly innovative new products targeted at customers that provide more advanced solutions to both the carrier and enterprise markets, including the Lync ecosystem.”

Jon Bunyard, director of the Advanced Solutions UK Division of Ingram Micro, said, “We consider UC a growing market and will be showcasing our existing vendor ecosystem at this month’s Convergence Summit North in Manchester where we look forward to talking to resellers about the opportunities these partnerships represent in the voice space,” Jon concluded.
