Steljes Offers Smart Meeting Room For Microsoft Lync In The UK

Steljes has started to distribute the Smart Room System for Microsoft Lync to its partner channel. Earlier this month, Microsoft qualified the collaborative meeting room from Smart Technologies as being fully interoperable with Lync Server 2013.

The Smart Room System brings  Lync into the meeting room and Steljes said this would help organisations simplify collaboration for  both virtual and face-to-face participants by providing voice, video and data in one package.

Broader view

The system includes one or more Smart Board interactive displays; an ultrawide-angle, high definition camera offering 109-degree field of view; customised speakers; and microphones, along with an administration room control console with an 11.6 inch display. Steljes said Smart had designed and manufactured each component in the system ensuring a “consistently rich meeting experience that enables productive, dynamic collaboration for all participants”.

The system comes with a custom-designed codec housed within the display enabling native connectivity to Microsoft Lync. The distie said the system was easy to install and configure and required no additional hardware or software.

“The Smart Room System is optimised for Microsoft Lync and Office 365, enabling companies to get the most out of their investment in Microsoft Lync,” said Sam Baker, head of product management at Steljes. “I predict that it will become an essential element of the modern collaborative meeting room. This is a very exciting technology and I believe it is set to take the corporate world by storm.”

Small room systems start at  £14,749, the medium system is £18,249, and the largest system costs £21,439.  Pricing includes one year onsite warranty and the system is shipping now.
