Fresh on the news that Aruba Networks is to be acquired by HP for around $3 billion, the wifi infrastructure provider has announced some new cloud-based wifi controllers for the channel.
Aruba adds that the controllers will “eliminate the time, cost and complexity of managing disparate single-purpose point products in the branch”, while enabling businesses to “extract more value from existing cloud-based unified communications and firewall investments”.
Among other features, the controllers automatically integrate with Microsoft Lync mobile unified communications, and with Palo Alto Networks firewalls to extend threat protection to every branch to support mobile devices with no additional hardware or software.
The Aruba 7000 Series Cloud Services Controllers will be available in the second quarter, with a US list price of $1,500.
