Dell extends collaboration with Google

Dell has extended its collaboration with Google with the launch of the Dell Chromebook 13, a “premium” 13.3-inch professional Chromebook solution.

The Dell Chromebook 13 offers up to 12 hours of battery life and the “manageability and security software and applications” allow it to “fit seamlessly into any professional computing environment”, said Dell.

Our latest Chromebook offering is designed for the mobile professional, and provides customers with an unrivalled Chrome experience which mixes the cost and simplicity benefits of Google’s chrome portfolio with Dell’s commitment to design,” said Kirk Schell, vice president and general manager, commercial client solutions, Dell.

Not only does the solution offer customers a superior mobile working experience, but with the availability of Dell’s leading security, management and ProSupport Plus service, it is also easy to integrate into wider device ecosystems,” he said.

The Chromebook 13 offers Google’s cloud-based management console to simplify deployment and centrally manage, update and track systems.

Dell ProSupport Plus for PCs and tablets is available to Dell Chromebook 13 customers. ProSupport Plus combines priority access to expert support 24×7, repairs for drops, spills and other mishaps, and a technical account manager (TAM) for customers with more than 1,000 entitled systems.

The Dell Chromebook 13 starts at $399 and will be available in North America from next month.

Earlier this year, Dell announced that Tech Data, one of the world’s largest wholesale distributors of technology, will now offer products from Dell’s portfolio to its customers in the UK and Ireland.
