UK’s ‘oldest IT spares firm’ acquired by EET Europarts

Chiltern IT, which bills itself as the UK’s “oldest IT parts distributor” after being founded in 1982, has been acquired by Denmark headquartered EET Europarts.

Chiltern, based in Gerrards Cross, Bucks, specialises in nationwide emergency delivery, so will be a boon to EET as it attempts to ramp up its UK business, when previously it had to ship parts from afar.

As part of the acquisition, EET Europarts will establish a UK warehouse – using Chiltern’s facility – so customers can come and pick up goods or have them delivered within few hours or next day at a required time. Existing EET office staff based in Pinner, Middlesex are moving to this facility too.

Chiltern IT is family-owned and has 15 employees. Chiltern owner Graham Nye said: “EET Europarts is Europe´s largest spare parts distributor, and a very successful company. I strongly believe that the impact of EET Europarts´ unique and effective sales and distribution model, in combination with the specific know-how and competences of Chiltern IT, will create lots of synergies for our spare parts customers.”

He added: “Also, I am convinced that joining forces with EET Europarts and becoming part of a strong financial and administrative infrastructure is right for Chiltern IT.”

CEO at EET Group, John Thomas, said: “Chiltern IT has a very strong reputation in the UK market, and I am confident that merging the two companies will strengthen the value proposition to spare parts customers in the UK in all aspects, including product choice, service and support.”

Thomas said: “We very much look forward to adding new competencies to our spare parts business, and at the same time bring even more highly skilled employees into our organisation.”

The value of the acquisition has not been disclosed.
