Huddersfield-based Brighter Connections has acquired Chester-based Samarind Networks for an undisclosed sum.
Brighter Connections provides IT infrastructure and services to clients across the UK. The acquisition of Samarind Networks, which will become a division of Brighter Connections Managed Services Ltd, will “add extra depth and market reach”, said Brighter Connections.
It said Samarind will enable the two companies to service a broader demographic and provide a more complete offer to both sets of existing and prospective clients.
Samarind Networks will continue to work from its base in Chester, though its service offerings will now also be replicated and delivered out of Brighter Connections’ Huddersfield facility.
Brighter Connections Group MD, Darren Stringer, said: “I’m delighted to welcome the Samarind Networks team to the group. I’m hugely excited by this important milestone in the growth of the Brighter Connections Group, not to mention the significant increase in deliverable capabilities to our enlarged client base.”
He said: “This takes us from being a successful national award-winning infrastructure reseller to a true IT solution and services integrator”. It is the company’s first acquisition.
Going forward, said Stringer, the focus of the group is to continue growing and expanding with potential acquisitions being targeted in the Midlands and the South of England to increase the footprint of the business.
Brighter Connections got additional finance for the deal from Yorkshire Bank, which was instrumental in supporting the founding of the original business back in 2003.
