IT services firms make Sunday Times 100 ‘most profitable’ list

A number of IT services firms have been included in the Sunday Times’ list of the 100 most profitable privately owned businesses in the UK.

The annual Sunday Times BDO Profit Track 100 includes MSPs Annodata (number 24) and Claranet (number 56). Online retailer The Hut Group is at number six, IT consultancy Blue Chip is at number 97, and IT security software developer Avecto comes in at number 98.

The Profit Track 100 ranks Britain’s private companies using the latest three years of their available accounts. To qualify, companies have to be UK-registered and unquoted.

Rod Tonna-Barthet, Annodata CEO, said: “We have evolved our strategy over the past few years as we set in place the foundations needed to grow the business and ensure we remain at the forefront of technological innovation.

“Our expanded service portfolio puts us in a strong position to respond to the often complex needs of our customers.”

Charles Nasser (pictured), Claranet CEO, said: “Financial strength is core to our value proposition as a managed services provider and is critical if we are to secure the trust of our customers.

“Our ability to adapt to better suit a constantly changing market has enabled the business to improve profitability, securing its financial strength.”

Claranet has just announced it is the first EMEA MSP to offer Data Deposit Box’s cloud-based data backup and data recovery service to customers.
