Entatech opens UK data centre space to address sovereignty needs

Entatech UK is addressing cloud data sovereignty issues by opening its first UK data centre space for its cloud services.

It will be used to serve and support its recently launched white label cloud offering Entacloud. Entacloud provides resellers with a one-stop-shop solution for cloud, cloud management, infrastructure, business applications, security, backup and storage as a service.

Developed in conjunction with partner Egenera’s Xterity Cloud Services, Entacloud delivers a full range of dedicated, managed, private and hybrid cloud services including infrastructure as a service (IaaS), disaster recovery as a service (DRaaS) and backup as a service (BaaS), exclusively through the channel.

The unveiled data centre capacity is based within the new LD6 building at Equinix data centre in Slough. All customer data will now reside within the UK at this centre, meaning customers will have “no issues” with data sovereignty, said the firm.

“Entacloud guarantees all customers that their data will remain in a UK based data centre and will remain in the UK,” said Entatech.

Paul Lloyd, Entacloud cloud evangelist, said: “Following the successful launch of Entacloud earlier this year, this is a major step forward in our development. We are now in an even better position to provide our customers with a reliable cloud service – with all aspects now housed within the UK.”

As previously reported on ChannelBiz, also new to Entacloud is CloudMigrate, a new migration service that enables users to seamlessly transition their existing cloud-based or on premise servers to Entacloud’s wholesale managed cloud, “without the worry of operational or performance hindrances”.
