AV king Nigel Steljes pops up at Avocor after administration

Avocor, a “specialist in the manufacture of interactive touch screens” officially launches today, headed by none other than Nigel Steljes, who saw the Steljes AV distribution business he founded go into administration last month.

Avocar, founded by Nigel Steljes, “will provide the latest technology” through its range of interactive flat panels for both business and education environments.

Distributed via a “dedicated partner network of value-added resellers”, said Avocar, the initial product line that the company will manufacture is the Vividtouch range of interactive touch screens, including the VTF series running the Windows 10 operating system.

Nigel Steljes, managing director of Avocor, said: “Our new company is a collaboration of industry expertise, with a level of market knowledge that has been built on years of experience working with customers across the education and corporate sectors.”

He said: “Customers will be at the heart of our approach to innovation, and our aim is to push the boundaries of technology by delivering a range of market-changing products.”

Loss-making Steljes went into administration after just short of 28 years operating in the AV market. One factor for its demise is believed to be linked to SMART’s decision to take most of its AV business away from the distributor, and deal with resellers direct.
