Barracuda looks for new partners after hiring IBM man

Barracuda Networks has appointed security and channel veteran Paul Lyden as its vice president sales for Northern Europe.

Based in the UK, Lyden will be responsible for leading Barracuda’s sales strategy across the UK, Ireland, Benelux and the Nordics.

Lyden brings over 20 years of experience in the technology industry, 18 of which have been spent working in and with the channel. Most recently, Lyden held the role of European channel sales leader for IBM’s storage solutions business.

His track record spans UK-based start-ups to global corporates, including Symantec, added Barracuda.

“We are very pleased to have Paul on board to help drive our sales programme across Northern Europe,” said Chris Ross, senior vice president, international sales, Barracuda. “Paul brings with him a strong background and track record of developing sales channels, driving organisational change and bringing new solutions to market.

“As a 100 percent channel-focused business, Paul’s wealth of channel experience makes him a valuable addition to the Barracuda team.”

Lyden said: “My goal is to scale our operations and drive continued momentum by strengthening relationships with current partners and recruiting new ones. We are committed to this region, having recently doubled the size of our UK&I sales team and having signed CMS as a new distributor [last year].

“We will continue to bring innovative security and data protection solutions to market that are easy to use and affordable.”

Barracuda is expanding its reach into the UK channel with the launch of its Intronis MSP Solutions in the UK, marking the first launch outside of North America since Barracuda acquired Intronis in October 2015.
