Thurlow Returns To NetApp To lead UK&I

Nick Thurlow is returning to NetApp to head up the vendor’s UK&I operations as senior sales director and managing director.

The move follows as a three-year stint at Arrow ECS where he most recently held the post of VP for the UK, Ireland & Benelux.

NetApp says Thurlow will focus on accelerating sales, strengthening its partner network and driving operational efficiencies in the market. “He will work closely with partners to address customer needs in the third-platform space, grow market share with flash and cloud innovations and the overall Data Fabric portfolio, and extend NetApp’s vertical market offerings,” it said in a release.

NetApp veteran

Thurlow had multiple roles at NetApp between 2000 and 2012, including leading the EMEA sales and EMEA channel businesses. He will start in his new role on January 30.

“With his vast industry experience, inside and outside the company, including leading a NetApp distribution partner, Nick Thurlow is the right person to drive further success in the UK and Ireland,” said Alexander Wallner, NetApp SVP & general manager for EMEA. “This is an important market for our future growth, and we welcome Nick back to NetApp as a powerful advocate for our customers and partners.”

“I am delighted to be rejoining the fantastic team at NetApp,” commented Thurlow. “The data management market is undergoing rapid transformation, both on the technology and business side. NetApp, with its compelling portfolio, expertise and vibrant partner network, is in pole position to lead change in the hybrid cloud era.”

Earlier this week NetApp launched its Backup-as-a-Service (BaaS) in the UK, alongside Node4 and Daisy Group.
