AstroNova, Inc. (NASDAQ: ALOT) a global leader in data visualization technologies, today announced that it has been added to the Russell 3000® Index and the Russell 2000® Index, effective after the U.S. market opens today, as part of the 2019 Russell indexes reconstitution.
“Inclusion in the Russell 3000 and 2000 indexes is a milestone in AstroNova’s 50-year history, one that speaks to the consistent, focused execution of our global team in delivering solid operating and financial results,” said Greg Woods, the Company’s president and CEO. “Our growth has helped to raise our visibility with institutions and investors, and we look forward to building on that momentum as a member of these prestigious financial industry benchmarks.”
Annual reconstitution of the Russell indexes captures the 4,000 largest US stocks as of May 10, ranking them by total market capitalization. For AstroNova, membership in the broad-market Russell 3000 Index, which remains in place for one year, means automatic inclusion in the U.S. small-cap Russell 2000 Index, as well as the appropriate growth and value style indexes. FTSE Russell determines membership for its Russell indexes primarily by objective, market-capitalization rankings and style attributes. AstroNova also remains a member of the Russell Microcap® Index.
Russell indexes are widely used by investment managers and institutional investors for index funds and as benchmarks for active investment strategies. Approximately $9 trillion in assets are benchmarked against Russell’s US indexes. Russell indexes are part of FTSE Russell, a leading global index provider.
