Battery Ventures, an investment firm focused on innovation and technology worldwide, has promoted four team members whose experience reflects Battery’s global focus across investment stages and geographies—including executing deals across North America, Europe and Israel in industry sectors such as enterprise software and industrial technology.

Dillon Joyce, Max-Julian Kaye and Aaron Rinberg were promoted to vice president. Joyce joined Battery in 2016 as an associate and has focused on growth and later-stage software investments. He is currently involved with Battery’s investments in Guardsquare, a mobile-security software company based in Belgium; PageUp, a talent-management software provider headquartered in Australia; and Quinyx, a workforce-management software company out of Sweden. Joyce recently relocated from Battery Ventures’ Boston office to San Francisco.

Kaye, based in Boston, was promoted to vice president based on his work sourcing and executing late-stage enterprise software transactions. These include Battery’s investments in SigmaTEK Systems, which makes software for manufacturers, and VertiGIS, a software-platform company in the geographic-information systems sector. Kaye joined Battery in 2014 and has worked in both the firm’s London and Boston offices. He now focuses on late-stage investments in industrial technology companies.

Rinberg, who works out of Battery’s Israel office, is currently involved with Battery portfolio companies Affirm, Cross River Bank, Habana Labs, hibob, Kodiak Robotics, Qognify, Sofar Sounds, Soldo, and UBQ Materials. Previously, he was also involved with Insert Mobile (acquired by Pendo). Rinberg joined Battery in 2014 and works on venture, growth and later-stage investments in sectors including fintech, enterprise software and frontier technologies.

Battery also promoted Dawit Workie to associate. He focuses on growth equity and buyout-stage investments in the enterprise-software sector. Previously Workie worked as an analyst at Century Equity Partners.

“We are proud to see team members like Dillion, Max, Aaron and Dawit continue to grow and develop at Battery, where we have a record of developing top talent internally. Each has excelled at deal sourcing and investment research and is working actively with the management teams at many of our companies,” said Michael Brown, a Battery general partner. “We congratulate all the promoted team members on their new roles and wish them continued success.”
