Passport Academy Charter School (PACS) is looking for more families who want to become part of the Wolfpack Family!

PACS is a tuition-free public high school for students under 21, but older than 16, who have been unable to graduate. PACS offers a blended learning environment that allows students to graduate with a high school diploma, giving them a new opportunity to achieve academic success, and is now welcoming students to enroll for the 2020-2021 school year.

The PACS blended program offers a personalized approach to learning, delivering rich, engaging curriculum designed to assist students who seek alternative pathways to education. Students receive support and resources needed to reach their academic goals, and access programs and courses designed to help with career readiness.

Two sessions of school are available. Students can come to school from 8:30-11:30 or 12:30-3:30. They are then responsible for an additional 2.5 hours of learning each day at their own pace.

“Our students love the fact that they can design their life around their school schedule,” says Principal/CEO Jeffrey “Bo” Jackson. “The flexibility we offer really sets us apart from our traditional school neighbors.”

Blended classes are taught by highly qualified and state certified Pennsylvania-licensed teachers who communicate with students and families through on-site classroom instruction in addition to on-line elective courses.

In addition to the curriculum, students are provided with numerous resources and staff support, including a special education department, a certified school psychologist, career and college counseling, mentoring, social service referrals, personal finance counseling, career readiness internships, social opportunities and athletics. Students are also permitted to participate in their home school extra-curricular activities.

Jonah Francis, a 19-year-old student set to graduate from PACS in June states that “PACS is full of opportunity, and there is a lot of one on one interaction with my teachers. I really now have a better understanding of what I want to do with my future. Everyone here is patient and everyone will listen to you, even if you are having a bad day.”

“I know this school and the teachers will support you and want the best for you. That didn’t happen at my other school, and I never went to school,” said Giovauni Ross, who is set to graduate from PACS in two years. “Now, I come to school almost every day.”

PACS is now accepting applications for the 2020-2021 school year. Families are encouraged to attend an in-person information session hosted by the school.
