CardFree, the leading mobile commerce platform for merchants, announced that Sen Wen has rejoined the company as its Chief Technology Officer. As part of the original founding team, Wen helped launch CardFree in 2012 and was instrumental in developing what is still the only integrated mobile commerce platform that enables ordering, offers, payments and loyalty. Prior to joining CardFree in 2012, Wen was Principal Architect and led mobile and platform engineering at Starbucks Coffee Company.
“Sen was an amazing technology leader at Starbucks when we were vendors to him on the original Starbucks mobile solution,” explained Jon Squire founder and Chief Executive Officer of CardFree. “When we founded CardFree, we sought out the best team in the industry with the highest pedigree and we were lucky to have brought on board technology, product, and business analytics leads from Starbucks,” said Squire. “Our team set out to raise the bar in mobile commerce deployments and have successfully done so. Sen is part of that history and now key in continuing that mission in our future.”
“I’m thrilled to be back at CardFree at such an exciting time for the company and in the industry,” commented Wen. “There are so many changes happening in the restaurant space as well as in retail that our platform can help drive. Our mission from day one has been to deliver the best consumer experiences in the industry and this team has been hands down the most consistent in doing just that.”
CardFree has deployed mobile commerce solutions for numerous top 20 QSRs and causal dining restaurants and is now offering solutions to restaurants and merchants of all sizes. The company holds the patent for its technology enabling ordering, payments and applying offers and loyalty seamlessly in one tap, scan or payload.
