“Tony is an extraordinary talent,” said Andrew Feldman, CEO and Co-Founder of Cerebras. “He brings to Cerebras a wealth of experience born from decades of financial leadership, rich relationships across the finance landscape, and extensive goodwill and trust on Wall Street. We couldn’t ask for a better leader for our finance organization.”

Prior to Cerebras, Maslowski served as senior vice president and CFO at Broadcom. He joined Avago in 2006, and during his decade-long tenure, which included Avago acquiring LSI and Broadcom, he rose to the position of CFO. Prior to Avago, he served as CFO for Allegro Manufacturing, as well as holding senior finance management positions at Lam Research and Hitachi Data Systems.

“I am honored to join the Cerebras team and to support its mission of bringing the fastest AI computers in the industry to leading organizations worldwide,” said Maslowski. “I look forward to helping Cerebras continue to grow at a rapid rate as we bring our pioneering technology to new markets and solve some of the largest AI problems in the world.”

Maslowski joins Cerebras at a time of rapid expansion. Last month, Cerebras opened new offices in Tokyo, Japan and Toronto, Canada. In addition, Cerebras recently announced wins for its flagship product, the CS-1, at some of the largest computer facilities in the U.S., including Argonne National Laboratory, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center (PSC) for its groundbreaking Neocortex AI supercomputer, and most recently, at pharmaceutical leader GlaxoSmithKline. The Cerebras CS-1 was also selected this year as one of Fast Company’s Best World Changing Ideas and a winner of IEEE Spectrum’s Emerging Technology Awards.

About Cerebras Systems

Cerebras Systems is a team of pioneering computer architects, computer scientists, deep learning researchers, and engineers of all types. We have come together to build a new class of computer to accelerate artificial intelligence work by three orders of magnitude beyond the current state of the art. The Cerebras CS-1 is the fastest AI computer in existence. It contains a collection of industry firsts, including the Cerebras Wafer Scale Engine (WSE). The WSE is the largest chip ever built. It contains 1.2 trillion transistors, covers more than 46,225 square millimeters of silicon and contains 400,000 AI optimized compute cores. The largest graphics processor on the market has 54 billion transistors and covers 826 square millimeters and has only 6,912 cores. In artificial intelligence work, large chips process information more quickly producing answers in less time. As a result, neural networks that in the past took months to train, can now train in minutes on the Cerebras WSE.
