Octo, a premier provider of emerging technology and IT modernization services for the Federal Government, announced today that Cynthia (Cindy) Walker has joined as Vice President of Octo’s Data Center of Excellence (CoE). Cindy is an innovator and industry thought leader who has devoted her career to helping federal agencies exploit data to improve performance, reduce risks, increase efficiencies, and deliver enhanced services to citizens. She has served as a strategic advisor and mentor to CIOs, CDOs, and IT leaders in defense, intelligence, health care, financial regulatory, and civilian federal government organizations. She brings her passion for making a difference with data to Octo where she is responsible for leading and expanding Octo’s data management and analytics services, solutions, and offerings.
“It’s all about improving outcomes. That is my focus and Octo’s focus – delivering innovations and proven approaches to managing and using data and information to enhance the mission,” Walker said. “It is exhilarating and important work. Our track record and laser focus are on enhancing the mission. That means helping a national defense client leverage predictive analytics to inform decisions that enhance military readiness, a financial regulator to proactively identify and mitigate risks to the financial system, a health care organization govern and share high quality data to improve health outcomes for underserved communities – that’s what it’s all about.”
Prior to joining Octo, Walker devoted her 35-year career to helping Federal Government organizations overcome significant mission challenges and raise their levels of data literacy to make informed decisions proactively. She served as Vice President of Salient CRGT’s Data Analytics Innovation Center where she led the development of transformative data-focused technologies, processes, and consultative services to unlock mission value for clients in the defense, health care, and transportation mission areas. She also served as the Chief Data Officer and Chief Innovation Officer at Kforce Government Solutions where she partnered homeland security and intelligence clients to deliver mission-enhancing data solutions.
Octo’s Chief Technology Officer Sujey Edward said, “Octo’s commitment to bringing in the best talent is key to producing innovative outcomes that directly apply to the missions we support. Cindy is a visionary and dynamic leader, and I’m excited to see this internal investment which will only further help Octo’s customers jump the technology curve.
