Cygilant, provider of Security-as-a-Service to mid-sized organizations, today announced its expansion to new headquarters in Burlington, Mass. to accommodate the company’s continued growth. In addition, Cygilant formally named Steve Harrington as vice president of marketing.

“Taking a more proactive approach to security for mid-sized organizations requires a greater amount of collaboration, which in turn means we need a more advanced space for our growing team,” said Rob Scott, president and chief executive officer at Cygilant. “Our new Burlington location enables us to continue expanding our team as we execute on our growth trajectory. We are excited to have Steve on board. His proven track record is an asset to Cygilant, and we will look to him to help us achieve a greater level of awareness and success.”

Cygilant chose Burlington, a suburb of Boston, for its headquarters to attract the world-class talent that will help it bring enterprise-class security to an increasing amount of mid-sized organizations. The company’s new space at 2400 District Avenue in Burlington adds Cygilant to an impressive list of technology companies in the area.

Mr. Harrington is a technology marketing veteran who brings more than 25 years of networking industry and technology marketing expertise to Cygilant. In his new role, Mr. Harrington is charged with increasing awareness of the company’s unique ability to give mid-sized organizations access to enterprise-class security in a simple and affordable way. Prior to Cygilant, Mr. Harrington was vice president of global marketing at Extreme Networks Inc., where he grew and managed its global marketing team. During this time, Mr. Harrington helped lead the company’s aggressive acquisition strategy and integrated marketing campaigns, assembling a strong leads pipeline.

Mr. Harrington also served as vice president of marketing at Enterasys Networks, where his team won the Forrester Groundswell Award for Social Collaboration. He has held a variety of marketing roles at several innovative technology companies, including ModusLink, Red Hat and Double-Take Software.

Record demand for enterprise-level security at mid-sized organizations is being driven by the need to protect sensitive information, including that of customers, partners and third-party vendors. The ability to protect enterprise data while maintaining strict regulatory requirements is beyond the scope of what IT and security professionals at mid-sized organizations can handle. Cygilant alleviates this burden by providing an integrated service that delivers a unique combination of automated tools and personalized advice.

Last month, Cygilant unveiled new additions to its SecureVue Cloud Platform that enable customers to quickly gain comprehensive visibility into their cloud-based operations, making it easier to identify potential problems and make needed changes.
