eMoney Advisor (eMoney), a leading provider of technology solutions and services that help people talk about money, today announced the launch of the second season of the original podcast “That Makes Cents.” Building on the success of the first season, which drew more than 8,000 listeners and covered financial planning trends, technology, and behavioral finance, season two of “That Makes Cents” focuses on marketing for financial advisors.

Navigating the world of marketing and running a successful financial planning business at the same time can be daunting, but there are considerable benefits. When done right, marketing can serve as an essential growth tool for an advisor business, building a foundation for strong, long-lasting client relationships.

Joined by returning host Spencer Israel of Benzinga, industry thought leaders and financial advisors, along with eMoney’s in-house marketing experts, will provide insights and best practices for implementing a digital marketing strategy that includes website, social media, content marketing, client communications and more. New episodes will be released on a bi-weekly basis through February 2021.

“The process of developing and executing a marketing strategy is more similar to creating a financial plan than one might think,” said Valerie Rivera, senior product marketing manager at eMoney. “Oftentimes getting started is the hardest part and this is something we’re excited to address in Season 2 of That Make Cents. We have a phenomenal line up of guests who will certainly be able to provide the guidance and resources needed to help advisors understand the best ways to boost their marketing efforts.”

The first episode is available now and features Rivera and guest Lou Melone, CFP®, managing partner of Budd, Melone & Company, who discuss marketing for advisors in 2020 and beyond, specifically honing in on creating a robust marketing strategy, how to go about it, what tools can help and how to measure success. According to a recent survey conducted by eMoney, 84% of Americans said personalized content is very important when working with an advisor. Rivera and Melone explore the concepts of delivering customized content and establishing trusting relationships with clients.

The survey results also reveal that 63% of respondents said insightful and educational content, as well as personalization, would make an advisor’s marketing stand out amongst competitors.

“Covid-19 has taught us many things, one of which is that having a digital presence has never been more important for financial advisors. Our guests will empower financial advisors by discussing the marketing tools and techniques needed to streamline their digital marketing efforts in order to acquire, retain, and continually engage their client base,” said Rivera.
