Expanse, the world’s leading attack surface management company, has announced the appointment of Kane Lightowler as Chief Revenue Officer. With a wealth of experience in scaling cybersecurity companies globally, Lightowler will oversee Expanse’s continued growth across the company’s sales and marketing teams.

Lightowler joins Expanse with 20 years of experience leading go-to-market teams internationally at multiple early to mid-stage cybersecurity companies. Most recently, he led the Enterprise Sales GTM for the Americas at Carbon Black to and through IPO and subsequent acquisition by VMWare. Lightowler also held senior leadership positions at Imperva (which went public in 2011) and Tumbleweed Communications (acquired by Axway). His industry expertise will support Expanse’s business growth as the company continues to grow by more than 100% year over year.

Founded in 2012, Expanse helps companies and government agencies identify their Internet-facing assets using the world’s most comprehensive attack surface management platform. Organizations like CVS Health, Department of Defense, Department of Energy, PayPal, Allergan, and Lockheed Martin trust Expanse to protect all their Internet-facing assets.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Kane to Expanse,” said Tim Junio, CEO and Co-Founder. “With his 20 years of experience and positive track record at major cybersecurity companies, Kane will be essential in helping scale our company both in the U.S. and as we expand internationally. As we work towards our mission to make the Internet safer for the world’s biggest organizations, Kane’s leadership will be critical to help grow Expanse’s rapidly expanding footprint.”

“I’ve witnessed firsthand how difficult it is for CISOs to size and scope their attack surface at a time when IT environments have been upended by cloud, IoT and more,” said Lightowler. “Companies like Expanse are critical in ensuring that organizations have adequate visibility into their attack surface and protect against bad actors.”
