Kinetic announced plans extend its current fiber build-out in Newton to cover the whole town. By the end of this year, more than 4,400 homes and businesses will have access to the gig speed fiber brings. By late summer of 2022, Kinetic will roll out fiber to another 4,100, meaning approximately 99 percent of residents in the Newton city limits will have fiber access to broadband, voice, productivity and entertainment services with unparalleled speed and reliability from Kinetic.

This expansion in Newton is in addition to work rolling out next generation technology currently underway in 48 communities across Iowa. Kinetic is adding more than 100 jobs in Iowa alone as part of recently announced plans to add nearly 1,000 jobs nationally for an internal engineering and fiber construction organization. Additionally, Kinetic has partnered with Vermeer Corporation in Pella, Iowa, to be the company’s strategic supplier of construction equipment for the new organization.

Kinetic is involved in a $2 billion, multi-year construction initiative to dramatically expand gigabit internet service deploying fiber across its 18-state footprint. The company is proud to name the Newton community as a premium market in Iowa for this investment.

“We are excited to learn that Kinetic by Windstream continues to invest in Newton. Having reliable broadband throughout all the community is essential to Newton’s continued growth,” said Frank Liebl, executive director of the Newton Development Corporation.

This investment gives residents and businesses in the area access to fast, reliable fiber to navigate the internet safely from home with no lag times while they work, school or stream entertainment services. Businesses ranging from small shops to large enterprises can take advantage of the fiber-backed network to deploy solutions that make their companies more efficient and profitable such as OfficeSuite UC® and SD-WAN.

Engineering for the project is ongoing, and residents of Newton will see crews working on fiber roll-out in their areas in the coming months.

“Kinetic is a proud partner to the city and residents of Newton, and we are dedicated to delivering fast broadband speed at competitive rates with unmatched service,” said Jeff Small, president of Kinetic. “As this fiber is delivered, Newton more than ever will be able count on Kinetic for fast and reliable connections.”
