This results in clinical guidance that is more meaningful and actionable, presented at the right time in the workflow. Traditional knowledge bases and IT systems only consider the drug, with limited clinical context identifying general risk with a drug. This new targeted approach is designed to improve the positive predictive value of alerts and clinician efficiency over current decision support methods.
FDB Targeted Medication Warnings focus on high-risk clinical scenarios such as hyperkalemia (high potassium levels), QT prolongation (heart rhythm issues), opioid use, pharmacogenomics, and more.
