Fuze, the leading cloud-based communications provider for the modern global enterprise, today announced that it has been awarded a new patent for temporary allocation of anchor addresses (e.g., phone numbers) and expanding communication and calling capabilities for Fuze users around the globe.

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) issued Fuze U.S. Patent No. 10708441B1 on July 7, 2020. The invention directs incoming calls from Fuze users located in areas where SIP gateway services are not available into a shared pool of phone numbers to connect calls to/from the intermediate carrier. Once the call using the temporarily allocated phone number is complete, the number returns to the pool and becomes available for use once again. This process streamlines and expands calling services for Fuze users globally, with a seamless caller ID interface.

“Many multinational corporations are looking to consolidate to a single platform for their global communications needs and require a solution that can connect legacy phone services to modern cloud communications,” said Rob Scudiere, president and chief operating officer at Fuze. “This technology empowers Fuze global users with reliable and flexible communication workflows in one unified communications platform, driving deeper collaboration across organizations.”
