Guidepost Growth Equity, a leading growth equity firm, today announced the promotions of Chris Cavanagh and Eugene Nogi to General Partner. Cavanagh has been at Guidepost since November 2015, and Nogi joined the firm in July 2018.

“As leaders within our firm across investment origination, evaluation, and management, we are thrilled to have Chris and Gene join the partnership,” said Roshen Menon, general partner, Guidepost Growth Equity. “2019 was a banner year for Guidepost, and Chris and Gene have been a key part of our successes. The firm deployed $145M in capital, made three new investments in entrepreneur-owned companies, and successfully exited our investments in Clarity and erecruit.”

“Adding Chris and Gene to the leadership team formally recognizes the substantial contributions they have made to the firm and will help serve our entrepreneurs and investors in the years to come as we continue to execute on our core growth equity strategy,” added Doug Kingsley, general partner, Guidepost Growth Equity.

As co-head of Guidepost’s information and data services team, Cavanagh helped lead the firm’s investments in Lucid and ThinkHR (which acquired Mammoth HR in 2019). He is a board member of Spoonflower and ThinkHR, a board observer of Lucid and BrightTALK, and a member of the WP Engine investment team. Prior to Guidepost, Cavanagh was vice president at Great Hill Partners and began his career in investment banking at Citigroup Global Markets. Since joining Guidepost, Nogi has helped lead the firm’s investments in ActiveViam, of which he is a board member and Traction on Demand, where he is a board observer. He co-heads Guidepost’s communications and infrastructure team and was previously a Partner at Symmetric Capital for 10 years. Nogi began his private equity career at Summit Partners.
