“In the background of International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, the HyperX team is proud to make an impact with the BroadcastHER Academy initiatives and looks forward to enabling the latest group of Fellows to advance and grow in their gaming and esports journeys,” says Wendy Lecot, head of HyperX strategic alliances. “We’re seeing a swell of support from the mainstream to encourage females to break the mold and positively change the perception of “a typical gamer” and how they can fulfill their dreams in the gaming industry. It’s an important time in the gaming industry to continue to elevate women to combat gender bias, and HyperX is focused on doing our part to encourage diversity and help change mindsets.”

Sharing dreams of being competitive esports players, creators, storytellers, broadcasters, and more, 10 talented women were chosen to join the BroadcastHER Academy Fellowship Program for 2021 where they will receive valuable work experience and networking opportunities with leaders in the industry. Powered by HyperX and Allied Esports, the BroadcastHER Academy is a year-long fellowship program that includes a $1,000 microgrant to help further the winners’ education along with HyperX gear and an all-expense paid trip to the HyperX Arena Las Vegas to shadow the Allied Esports team and receive a behind-the-scenes look at the esports industry.

From well-known streamers and champion athletes to industry leaders and new creator talent, the HyperX family reflects diversity in gaming with inspirational team members and ambassadors such as Aerial Powers, Pokimane and Valkyrae, who are all paving the way for women inclusivity and opportunity in the industry.
