The International Consortium of Minority Cybersecurity Professionals (ICMCP) and Virtual, Inc. today announced an agreement that establishes Virtual as ICMCP’s business partner, supporting ICMCP with a full array of professional services, including implementation of growth strategy, during important and formative stages for the organization.

ICMCP is a 501(c)3 non-profit association that is dedicated to the academic and professional success of minority cybersecurity students and professionals. Virtual, Inc. is a professional services firm that serves nearly 90 organizations that include associations, technology consortia, standards organizations, and advocacy groups.

“Our partnership with Virtual comes at an important period for ICMCP,” said ICMCP Co-Founder and President, Larry Whiteside, Jr. “Virtual has the ideal blend of services and experiences that matches the needs we have during ICMCP’s expansion and ascent to a larger role within a community in need of dynamic leadership. On top of managing business operations, ICMCP will rely on Virtual to design and implement strategy and tactics that build awareness and appreciation of ICMCP and its important role in bringing attention to the role that women and minorities play within the cybersecurity industry.”

The new collaboration comes during a key period for ICMCP as the stakeholders it serves process the intense focus on issues of race, ethnicity, and gender that will forever define the year of 2020. With Virtual now providing business-service support, ICMCP’s volunteer leadership is now in a stronger position to focus on oversight and advancement of the organization’s strategic priorities.

“In ICMCP, Virtual sees a partner with values and priorities that blend with its own culture. It’s always great to work with organizations that are seeking to make a mark on the world, which is demonstrably the case with ICMCP,” said Andy Freed, CEO, Virtual, Inc. “When that organization likewise sits at such an important intersection of cybersecurity and diversity and inclusion, it becomes not just our job, but our duty, as a company to help its efforts succeed.”
