IRI®, a fast-growing, global leader in innovative solutions and services for consumer, retail and media companies, today announced that the IRI Integrated Fresh solution was named a 2021 SIIA CODiE Award finalist in the Best Business Intelligence Solution category. Finalists represent the best products, technologies and services in software, information and business technology.
Integrated Fresh is a new solution that tracks sales and shopper behavior of both random-weight and traditional UPC food and beverage items. It is agnostic, reflective of the IRI ecosystem of retailers, as opposed to any one retailer or supplier view, that can be shared across the industry to give a more holistic view of the store. It’s the first fact-based data definition of store departments, such as dairy and deli, and is based on data-driven research on the products and attributes found in these departments.
Based on Integrated Fresh analysis, IRI found that in 2021 fresh produce volume and dollar sales were up compared to the 2019 pre-pandemic baseline, with volume sales 7.1% higher. Fresh sales reached an all-time high in 2020 and are still elevated above pre-pandemic levels.
Acknowledged as the premier awards program for the software and information industries for over 35 years, the SIIA CODiE Awards are produced by the Software & Information Industry Association, the principal trade association for the software, education, media and digital content industries. Integrated Fresh was honored as one of 153 finalists across the 43 business technology categories, including two categories in response to COVID-19.
“The 2021 CODiE Award finalists continued to innovate, pivot and grow to develop truly remarkable products throughout an historically challenging year. These finalists maintain the vital legacy of the CODiEs in spotlighting the best and most impactful apps, services and products serving the business tech market. Congratulations to this year’s finalists on this well-deserved recognition,” said Jeff Joseph, president of SIIA.
“Integrated Fresh allows for a holistic view of food and beverages across the store and provides CPG manufacturers and retailers with more attributes than ever before to drive growth,” said Jonna Parker, principal, Fresh Center of Excellence, IRI. “We’re honored that Integrated Fresh is a finalist for best business intelligence solution. We couldn’t have done this without collaborative support from our industry partners, namely the International Dairy Deli Bakery Association as well as our retailer and supplier client ecosystem.”
The SIIA CODiE Awards are the industry’s only peer-recognized awards program. Business technology leaders including senior executives, analysts, media, consultants and investors evaluate assigned products during the first-round review. Their scores determine the SIIA CODiE Award finalists, which accounts for 80% of the overall score. SIIA members then vote on the finalist products, and the scores from both rounds are tabulated to select the winners. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Business Technology category winners will be announced during an online winner announcement celebration on June 22, 2021.
