Today, j2 Cloud Services, LLC, a subsidiary of j2 Global, Inc. (Nasdaq: JCOM), a leading internet information and services company, introduced a free service for patients to securely receive their medical information in a personalized account using cloud-fax technology. MyHealth Inbox brings together all medical documentation to make it easy for patients to view their available medical data from multiple providers whenever they choose.

As policy-makers and medical professionals strive to create a seamless, secure, and compliant exchange of medical information, j2 Cloud Services is proud to introduce a new user platform that puts patients first.

“We are very excited to offer this free tool that empowers patients,” said John Nebergall, SVP/General Manager for eFax®. “MyHealth Inbox gives patients control over their own health information. Visiting a doctor can be stressful enough. Getting medical records after a visit, storing, accessing and sharing them later, shouldn’t add to the stress. By leveraging encryption technology unique to cloud fax, we are providing medical providers with a HIPAA compliant method to send medical records to one secure location that patients can access any time, and take with them anywhere.”

With MyHealth Inbox, consumers are provided with a virtual cloud-fax number that converts incoming fax documentation into PDFs and stores them securely in an online account. Virtually all health practitioners have faxing capabilities and use them to transmit important medical records as the defacto method of communication. Digital faxing may use the most secure form of encryption technology; so professionals and patients can rest easy knowing they are not at risk of compromising sensitive, personal health information. Having one secure location to store all of their medical records also gives patients portability to take their records with them whenever they change providers or see specialists.

MyHealth Inbox is easy to use. Consumers do not need a fax machine or software. Documents can be viewed on a phone, tablet, or computer.
