JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Computer Aid, Inc. (CAI) were jointly awarded the Adam Heavner Award presented by the Autism Society of America to organizations helping people on the autism spectrum. This award was created to honor those who provide employment opportunities for people with Autism and this year’s award was based on CAI’s Autism2Work program in partnership with JPMorgan Chase.

Autism2Work provides training, coaching, mentoring, and job placement with organizations in areas of software development, testing, security access management, and other core IT functions. The program leverages a standard methodology to help people on the spectrum orient into an organizational culture and to become a valued member of an IT team. JPMorgan Chase has embraced this effort to become one of the nation’s leading employers of those with autism.

“At JPMorgan Chase, we are honored to receive the Adam Heavner Award. We strive to help people on the spectrum leverage their abilities to build a career. The Autism2Work program has exceeded our expectations with a 48% improvement in the first six months compared to existing testing resources with better quality. It just makes good business sense,” said Anthony Pacilio, Vice President Global Technology, JPMorgan Chase.

“CAI is extremely proud to receive the Adam Heavner Award for the work with JPMorgan Chase. The program is a game changer for people on the spectrum and for our clients. We help our clients improve the bottom line by leveraging the abilities of an underserved and deserving group. We believe this is a win-win for all,” commented Tom Salvaggio, President of CAI.

“The CAI Autism2Work program is an example of the technology industry leveraging the unique skills of people with Autism. People on the spectrum have an ability to focus on details, recognize patterns, and to work on problems until they are solved. The Autism Society of America is proud to recognize both JPMorgan Chase and CAI for their work with people on the spectrum,” said Scott Badesch, President, Autism Society of America.
