LeoStella, a specialized satellite design and manufacturing company, has been recognized by Seattle Business magazine as one of the 100 Best Companies to Work For in 2020.

The magazine’s annual award program acknowledges companies that go above and beyond to create a strong company culture. Employees from nominated companies anonymously responded to a comprehensive survey regarding specific categories including communication, training, rewards and recognition. The survey results were then used to establish the top companies.

“LeoStella is committed to creating a workplace that encourages growth, community and innovation,” said Gunjan Murarka, CFO at LeoStella. “We’re incredibly proud to be named a top company to work for in Washington state just two years after our founding. This recognition is particularly meaningful because it comes from employee feedback and it’s encouraging to see that our colleagues feel so inspired about LeoStella. Our employees are the driving force of our success and we’re honored to work with the high caliber of motivated professionals on our team.”

Survey responses indicated that employees find LeoStella offers a positive, supportive, collaborative, and family-like environment. In addition, employees shared they value LeoStella’s work, programs such as flex Fridays and the company’s community outreach and giving initiatives as well as the leadership team’s open communication and how the company has responded to COVID-19.

“My coworkers at LeoStella are passionate, sharp and fantastic collaborators,” said Melissa Briggs, systems staff engineer with LeoStella. “I feel incredibly lucky that I get to work on the forefront of the space industry alongside this group of people every day.”

“Employees are valued and prioritized,” added LeoStella Assembly, Integration and Testing Engineer, Luca Laffitte. “Working through this pandemic has highlighted LeoStella’s strong commitment to its values, all while holding our work to a high standard and growing the business.”

With nearly 50 employees, LeoStella is a leader in satellite design and manufacturing. Rather than shedding employees during the pandemic, LeoStella has maintained its operations and has plans to grow its team 10 to 20 percent in the coming year. The company has several open positions including opportunities for spacecraft electrical, mechanical, and avionics software engineers.
