The Maine Department of Economic and Community Development website was honored with a Gold Marcom Award and a Gold W3 Award in the programs’ 2019 award competitions.
The newly updated website was designed with the user in mind: it is accessible, relevant and combines an intuitive architecture with clear calls to action. The website is mobile-friendly and displays latest news, strategic vision of the department and has been streamlined from thousands of pages to less than 150.
The site utilizes the Maine.gov content management system (CMS), a powerful web-based tool that allows agency administrators to easily manage their website. The CMS has risen in popularity with an additional two dozen sites adopting the platform in the last year.
The Marcom Awards is an international competition that recognizes outstanding achievements by marketing and communication professionals. With more than 6,500 entries, the awards program is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals.
The W3 Awards is sanctioned and judged by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts. It celebrates digital excellence by honoring outstanding websites, web marketing, video, mobile sites and apps, and social content created by some of the best interactive agencies, designers and creators worldwide.
