Sponsored by Businesswire

Mason Frank International, the leading Salesforce staffing specialist arm of global IT staffing firm Frank Recruitment Group, today launched the latest edition of its annual report on the Salesforce market.

This year’s Mason Frank Salary Survey is the seventh edition released by the firm and coincides with Mason Frank’s tenth anniversary.

Based on over 263,000 data points, the Mason Frank Salary Survey is the largest Salesforce salary survey in the world. This year’s edition includes self-reported information from Salesforce professionals across the globe during the coronavirus pandemic, with respondents spanning a range of industries and a diverse range of personal and professional backgrounds.

The report gives Salesforce professionals and employers an overview of the latest average salaries across various Salesforce roles and geographical regions. It also offers readers a snapshot view of the Salesforce community’s sentiments and opinions, revealing their thoughts on subjects such as certifications, diversity, and earning potential.

As well as enabling them to benchmark their teams’ salaries, the report gives Salesforce customers, partners, and ISVs an insight into what Salesforce professionals want from their careers. This data empowers employers to build effective hiring and retention strategies based on the Salesforce Ohana’s up-to-date attitudes on factors like workplace benefits, job satisfaction, and career development.

Key discoveries

  • 60% of Salesforce Partners expect their workloads to increase in the next 12 months
  • More respondents are working additional hours, with the percentage of permanent employees regularly working outside of their contracted hours rising from 27% to 42% following the coronavirus outbreak
  • 97% of permanent employees now work from home at least once a week—up from 62% pre-COVID
  • A third (32%) of professionals tell us that coronavirus has changed how happy they feel at work
  • 60% of respondents have experienced burnout, with 37% reporting more than one instance of burnout
  • 50% of respondents hold at least 100 Trailhead badges, highlighting both how committed Salesforce professionals are to upskilling and how competitive the market can be as professionals put in additional work to help them stand out
  • More than half (54%) of those surveyed have gained more Trailhead badges during the coronavirus pandemic

The 2020/2021 edition of the survey comes amid a period of accelerated digital transformation, as more businesses look to move their operations online due to the global health crisis. Unsurprisingly, given this spike in the adoption of cloud platforms, the survey’s results reveal an increase in workloads for Salesforce professionals—but also a surge in overtime and extra hours.

Findings indicate that the hike in workload, coupled with the rising prevalence of home working, is putting the Salesforce community under increased demand.

The survey highlights the importance of supporting those in the tech space and prioritizing wellbeing. While the Salesforce industry capitalizes on the digital transformation boom, employers must keep the health and welfare of their Salesforce professionals front and center as we navigate this challenging time. With Salesforce skills in great demand than ever, taking care of the professionals working in the industry and ensuring they don’t burn out is crucial.

Frank Recruitment Group Chairman and CEO James Lloyd-Townshend said: “We’re delighted to once again present our annual Mason Frank Salary Survey. I believe the insights the report surfaces are especially vital this year as we face unprecedented challenges as an industry.

“There’s always been a drive in the Salesforce community to look after each other and continuously work to make it an inclusive, supportive place. Hearing and responding to the voices of those working in the Salesforce community is so crucial to achieving that goal.

“With the whole world under additional pressures, I hope the results of our report will help employers and professionals alike to make informed decisions and positive changes that will enable the community to continue to thrive.”

The 2020/2021 edition of the Mason Frank Salary Survey features a special section on workplace wellbeing, developed in partnership with Ben McCarthy and his team at

“I’m very pleased to be partnering with Mason Frank for the second year,” said McCarthy. “The Mason Frank Salary Survey has provided Salesforce professionals with a go-to guide to benchmark their own salaries and skills over the past seven years. But with this ‘new normal’ comes more challenges, one of the most important being the wellbeing and mental health of employees. This is why I’m especially happy to launch the first Salesforce wellbeing survey to ever feature within the report.”
