National Online Registries, LLC (NOR) has partnered with the Iowa Department of Transportation to allow users of the Motor Carrier Information Exchange (MCInfo) system to electronically file insurance documents directly with the state. Iowa is the 22nd state to integrate MCInfo into its process for receiving filings from insurance carriers.
“We are glad to team up with Iowa to provide an online method for insurance companies to file forms more efficiently with the state,” said Laura Johnson, General Manager of NOR. “Now, users simply check a box to include Iowa as a recipient and quickly submit MCInfo filings.”
The initial offerings for Iowa allow users to submit Form E, Uniform Motor Carrier Bodily Injury and Property Damage Liability Certification of Insurance, and Form K, Uniform Notice of Cancellation of Motor Carrier Insurance Policies, through MCInfo. Future additions for Iowa will include financial responsibility forms SR-22, Uniform Financial Responsibility Certificate of Insurance, SR-23, Uniform Financial Responsibility Notice for Fleets, and SR-26, Uniform Financial Responsibility Notice of Cancellation or Termination.
MCInfo speeds up the submission process and increases transparency by providing visibility and tracking of insurance filings through the approval process. Automatic data population helps save time and prevent data entry errors when submitting multiple forms at once. Today, MCInfo users can complete and file 13 forms through the system, including common Forms E, H and K.
For participating states, MCInfo provides a centralized system to receive and review insurance filings, automatically communicate with insurance companies, and track trends and progress via the reporting feature.
