Evansville, Indiana-based MetroNet is bringing the power of ultra-fast 100% fiber optics to cities just north of Dayton including Tipp City, Troy, Vandalia, Englewood, Union, Clayton and West Milton. The rapidly growing company today announced that construction of its fiber network in these markets is well underway and new installations are expected to begin as early as late summer. The company expects to invest over $30 million into the project. MetroNet’s work installing fiber internet is part of the Communications Sector of the United States Government’s Critical Infrastructure, which is deemed vital and necessary to continue, even during challenging times. “We are very excited to be building our network in these north Dayton area cities and we are looking forward to bringing our high-speed fiber optic internet, television and phone services to these communities,” stated Darrick Zucco, MetroNet’s General Manager for Ohio and Kentucky. “These cities have been wonderful partners and have worked closely with us to set up the infrastructure that will be the foundation for extremely fast, reliable fiber-optic services.”
Residents receive communication by mail about construction activity in their neighborhood 30 days prior to starting. MetroNet provides additional messaging, such as yard signs, to let residents know when the temporary construction process is beginning in their neighborhood. MetroNet crews are marked by ID tags and branded vehicles.
As MetroNet finalizes installation of their fiber-optic network, making these communities “Gigabit Cities”, customers in the construction areas are likely seeing MetroNet vehicles in their neighborhoods. In order to fully build out these markets, MetroNet is well on its way through a two-year construction and installation plan to construct the fiber optic infrastructure.
MetroNet has plans to establish a retail storefront in the area to meet customer service needs as well as provide more information about services available. Residents can confirm their address will be serviceable as well as view services and pricing by visiting www.MetroNetInc.com. Customers that sign up early will be among the first in their neighborhoods to receive service when installations begin.
