Key to the partnership will be the union of REEF KITCHENS, REEF’s delivery-only kitchens initiative, with AmericanAirlines Arena and Levy Restaurants to participate in the RE-HEAT Program to distribute unserved food from Miami HEAT home games to homeless shelters and food banks throughout the South Florida area. This season, all parties involved aim to beat The HEAT’s 2018-2019 season food donation record, in which almost 6,726 pounds of unserved food (about 164 pounds of food per HEAT home game) were donated to local shelters via the RE-HEAT program.

“We are thrilled to announce our partnership with a renowned organization stationed right in our backyard,” said Alan Cohen, CMO of REEF Technology. “Miami HEAT basketball has maintained a profound influence on our city’s culture and community since its founding, and engaging with the team’s diverse and enthusiastic fan base – regionally and internationally – is extremely important to us. We hope this opportunity allows REEF Technology to further extend our footprint with consumers and new audiences, while delivering for the good of the community.”

“As a world-class company that thrives in technology, environmental sustainability and community service, REEF aligns perfectly with the culture of the Miami HEAT,” said Glen Oskin, Vice President of Corporate Sales. “We couldn’t be happier to establish this partnership and further our joint effort in not only providing a great fan experience on game nights, but making a positive impact as stewards of the South Florida community.”

In addition to plans for distributing unserved food, the partnership brings together two of Miami’s more environmentally conscience organizations. AmericanAirlines Arena, was awarded LEED Certification for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) in April 2009 –the first arena in the country to receive this prestigious designation by the USGBC. REEF’s technology-driven infrastructure provides congestion-reducing buffering zones and environmentally conscious parking, storage and micro-fulfillment solutions, which enable the frictionless movement of goods and services.

Outside of the arena, REEF is the largest parking operator in Miami, and is reimagining the role of parking facilities by creating last-block mobility and logistical hubs that serve the needs of cities, residents and businesses. This partnership marks the first-ever professional sports team sponsorship for REEF Technology, and the company is proud to showcase its renowned technology assets with fellow Miamians by supporting The HEAT’s legacy and world-class facilities.
