Virtual Academy
(NVVA) will celebrate the Class of 2019 with two
in-person commencement ceremonies across the state. An accredited,
tuition-free online public charter school, NVVA is available to students
in grades 6-12 across the state.

“On behalf of the NVVA community, I am so pleased to congratulate the
Class of 2019 on all they have accomplished,” said Dr. Yolanda Hamilton,
NVVA’s head of school. “Each family begins a new journey with us, and it
has been our honor to help them discover their unique skills, talents
and passions in the online learning classroom, and beyond.”

NVVA graduates earn their high school diplomas in a personalized
learning environment. Following graduation, members of the Class of 2019
will enroll in two- and four-year colleges and universities, enter
military service, or join the full-time workforce. Graduating seniors
report having been accepted to higher education institutions across the
country, including Emory University, Indiana State University, Spelman
College, University of Nevada – Las Vegas, and University of Oregon.

More than 200 students will graduate from NVVA this year. Students
access a robust online curriculum in the core subjects and a host of
