Today, OnCall Health announced a commercial partnership with Lumino Health, an innovation from Sun Life, to connect healthcare providers with Canadians from a distance.

OnCall Health is providing its virtual care software to healthcare providers on the Lumino Health network, Canada’s largest network of healthcare providers. OnCall Health’s simple and secure virtual care software is trusted by over 600 healthcare organizations and thousands of primary care, mental health, and paramedical service providers throughout North America. It enables healthcare providers on the Lumino Health network to connect virtually with patients, automate administrative processes such as online scheduling of appointments, and expand their operations by reaching more patients faster.

“Lumino Health shares our vision that virtual care is part of the new normal in healthcare, especially in a post-COVID world,” says Nicholas Chep, founder and CEO of OnCall Health. “With a network of more than 150,000 healthcare providers in Canada, this partnership represents a significant opportunity to make our virtual care technology part of every healthcare provider’s toolkit.”

According to the Canadian Medical Association, 71 per cent of Canadians would like to book appointments electronically. But just nine per cent of family physicians offer this option*. OnCall Health and Lumino Health are making it easy for healthcare providers to incorporate online booking and virtual care into their practices. Healthcare providers can also see more patients faster by automating administrative work like scheduling, appointment reminders, consent forms, and payment processing.

“While Canadians continue to practice physical distancing and go online for their healthcare needs, we know the desire for virtual options is here to stay,” says Chris Denys, Senior Vice-President, Lumino Health, Sun Life. “Our collaboration with OnCall Health will help healthcare providers stay connected to their patients. Now more than ever, this technology will be key to the future of healthcare.”

“We are currently seeing an unprecedented need for virtual care. Our platform provides everything that healthcare providers and networks like Lumino Health need to quickly incorporate this approach to healthcare delivery into their practice, at scale,” adds Chep.

OnCall Health’s premium white label virtual care platform helps healthcare enterprises manage their virtual care operations at scale through secure video, instant messaging, digital forms and assessments, and analytics on any device or web browser.

Healthcare organizations can customize the OnCall Health platform with their own branding to provide a consistent and professional experience for patients. An analytics dashboard lets healthcare providers measure key metrics for virtual care programs – such as usage, appointment attendance, clinical outcomes – and patient satisfaction surveys. It also meets PHIPA and PIPEDA patient privacy compliance standards, and 256-bit E2E encryption. All data is hosted on Canadian servers.
