Orion Business Innovation (“Orion”), a fast-growing, global technology services firm focused on enterprise digital transformation and digital product development, has announced the successful completion of its SOC (Service Organization Controls) Type II certification.
The independent SOC examination was conducted by Plante Moran, among the nation’s largest public accounting and business advisory firms, which evaluated and tested the Service Organization’s internal operational controls and processes.
SOC 2 Type II is a generally accepted auditing standard utilized by service organizations to demonstrate their internal controls and security practices to their clients. The certification acknowledges Orion’s strict adherence to data security and affirms its commitment to appropriate security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality and privacy controls. By completing the SOC examination, Orion can offer third-party verification of its significant control practices and operational procedures. This enables the company to serve high caliber clientele in regulated industries where greater security and diligence is required, as it verifies that Orion has the appropriate SOC safeguards and procedures in place to protect sensitive data.
Conducting a comprehensive SOC examination requires substantial financial and time investments, but Orion considered the review a mandatory aspect of its continuing commitment to process improvement and customer security practices.
“The pace of change within the IT landscape is unprecedented with innovation happening at a rapid clip. The onus falls on technology services and solutions providers to ensure that our clients are secure as they navigate these changes,” said Raj Patil, CEO, Orion. “Our dedication to security and internal controls has allowed us to consistently offer our clients an extraordinary level of quality and service.”
Pradeep Menon, Head of Global Delivery for Orion, said, “I’m proud of our team for the rigor it takes to get this certification. The SOC certification recognizes the high standard to which we hold our solutions and our company, and signifies that Orion makes our processes and the security of our clients’ data top priorities. As a player who brings a unique combination of agility, global scale and maturity, Orion has stood out in our ability to serve global enterprise clients.”
Orion selected Plante Moran to conduct the SOC examination due to the firm’s experience and credibility. “With Plante Moran’s years of experience and rigorous standards of excellence, our clients can be confident that the findings of the SOC examination accurately reflect Orion’s reliable, highly secure internal controls, for which they can hold us accountable,” said Patil.
