From the TRENDS 2019 Rothman Index Customer Conference today, PeraHealth announced the availability of its next innovation, delivering Rothman Index access to an even greater patient and clinician population. Version 5 of Rothman Index TREND (RI TREND) brings broader capabilities for global and remote surveillance, supporting applications for command centers, telehealth, and system-wide surveillance.

RI TREND provides clinicians with a visual dashboard of the patient’s condition in real-time, helping them detect changes before they become life-threatening. Clinicians easily access RI TREND via a web browser, through the electronic medical record (EMR), and/or via a dedicated kiosk display on the unit or system-wide command center. Screen views show the individual patient level, the nursing unit, or the entire facility.

The SaaS-based V5 platform also adds RI MOBILE for a comprehensive surveillance approach. RI MOBILE provides customizable TREND functionality on mobile devices for streamlined workflow integration and easy, immediate access to patient alerts.

Hospitals across the country already use the Rothman Index for Early Warning Systems, Sepsis Detection, Palliative Care, ICU Optimization, and Care Management. V5 of RI TREND adds an enhanced clinician experience, with quick sidebar navigation and patient filters; rapid performance for accessing a high volume of patients in seconds; and the most secure data architecture to guard patient information, with HIPAA-compliant data centers.

The peer-reviewed Rothman Index is the only proven, FDA-cleared comprehensive patient deterioration algorithm with established outcomes, including:

  • Detect sepsis earlier (37% reduction in sepsis mortality at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore)
  • Lower cost per case (13% sepsis costs per case reduction at Yale New Haven Health)
  • Prevent unplanned ICU transfers (38% reduction in unplanned transfers to the ICU at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore)
  • Reduce 30-day readmissions (14% reduction in SNF-to-hospital readmission rate at Shannon Health)
  • Optimize palliative care consults (54% cost reduction for palliative care at Yale New Haven Health)
  • Reduce mortality in practice (30% mortality reduction at Yale New Haven Health; 30% risk-adjusted mortality reduction at Houston Methodist)

“We’ve had two days of inspirational customer stories at our TRENDS 2019 conference,” says Greg White, CEO, PeraHealth. “Launching RI TREND V5 technology that meets and exceeds customer needs by helping them improve patient care in new, convenient ways for more patients was an incredible conference finale. We sent attendees back home with lessons to share with peers and new ways to apply the Rothman Index.”

The Rothman Index TREND V5 is built on Google Cloud, a top-tier Cloud hosting provider, delivering top performance with world-class security.

About PeraHealth

PeraHealth is a SaaS software company that uses the Rothman Index to transform the clinical, operational and financial efficiency of healthcare. The Rothman Index is the only algorithm that derives one simple score from the vast amount of data in the electronic medical record to create a picture of any patient’s condition over time – any age, any disease, any unit. It is the only algorithm proven to reduce mortality in practice. Other results include reducing length of stay and readmissions. Our customers are leading hospitals and clinicians who need to identify patients at risk of rapid decline, make decisions about transfer and discharge, predict the risk of sepsis, and improve the overall efficiency and quality of care.
