Red River, a technology transformation company, announced today the philanthropic highlights from Achieve 2020, the company’s annual meeting held this year in San Antonio, Texas. They included naming the recipient of the PTC Hero Award, the establishment of the Jeff Sessions Memorial Scholarship and the completion of Red River’s day-long Community Service Project.
PTC Hero Award: Highlighting philanthropy as a core Red River value, the Red River Charitable Foundation (RRCF) established the PTC Hero Award to honor those who go above and beyond to significantly impact the lives of others on a day-to-day basis. At Achieve 2020, RRCF awarded its latest PTC Hero Award to Theresa Hart, founder of Newby-ginnings (www.newbyginnings.org), which provides basic necessities and essential household items to veterans, active military and families, at no cost. Theresa Hart is the third winner of the annual Award. Past winners include Bethie Coverdale and Grace Choi.
Jeff Sessions Memorial Scholarship: At Achieve 2020, Red River also formally launched the Jeff Sessions Memorial Scholarship. The Scholarship will benefit veterans pursuing technology careers. It was established to honor the life and contributions of Jeff Sessions, Red River’s late CEO. The Jeff Sessions Memorial Scholarship is managed by RRCF, which will begin accepting Scholarship applications in early March 2020. Community Service Project: Achieve 2020 also witnessed Red River’s day-long community service project at SJRC (www.sjrctexas.org). SJRC is an organization that helps Texas children who have been affected by trauma, abuse and neglect. More than 500 Red River employees and partners improved SJRC facilities at two locations, including laying new flooring, building new beds, and creating therapeutic outdoor spaces.
